Three men arrested following drug trafficking investigation

Three men have been arrested in connection with a drug trafficking investigation in Sackville, N.B.

On Nov. 15, members of the RCMP Provincial Crime Reduction Unit (PCRU), with the assistance of the RCMP Federal Serious and Organized Crime Unit (FSOC) began an investigation into the trafficking of illegal drugs in the Sackville region.


On Nov. 22, PCRU members, along with assistance from the RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant at a residence on Pond Shore Road in Sackville, in connection with the investigation. During the search, police seized significant quantities of what is believed to be cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, methamphetamine pills, hydromorphone pills, and a large amount of money. Police also seized nine unsafely stored firearms including a prohibited rifle and a restricted handgun. Nearly 55,000 contraband cigarettes, and drug trafficking paraphernalia were also seized.

A 39-year-old man from Sackville, a 37-year-old man from Sackville, a 40-year-old man from Nova Scotia, were all arrested at the scene. The 37-year-old and 40-year-old men were later released from custody.

The 39-year-old man was remanded into custody on outstanding warrants, and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 28.

The Provincial Crime Reduction Unit focuses on disrupting and dismantling the trafficking of illegal drugs in our province, targeting those causing the most harm in our communities. Members of the RCMP Police Dog Services, Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems pilots and the Southeast District RCMP also assisted with the investigation.
