La Ronge police charge woman with murder of Wilfred Ballantyne

La Ronge, Sask., RCMP are investigating the murder of 31-year-old Wilfred Ballantyne from Pelican Narrows.

Police found his body after responding to a report of an unresponsive man at a home on the Lac La Ronge Indian Band in the community of Kitsaki. at about 1:15 a.m. on Nov. 25.

Sask. RCMP Major Crimes, charged 22-year-old Mary Bird from La Ronge with second-degree murder. She is scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on Nov. 27.
