Teen, 17, gunned down in wrong place at wrong time

Seventeen-year-old David Petrovic was in the “wrong place at that time” when he was shot and killed in a random attack outside an apartment complex in Toronto’s East York’s Crescent Town neighbourhood on Dec. 10, 2022.

Petrovic and his friends had just left a home in the area and were socializing outside 5 Massey Square, by an elementary school near Victoria Park Ave. and Crescent Town Rd. just after 7 p.m. when he was shot by an unknown person, said police.

Petrovic was pronounced deceased at the scene. His 16-year-old friend was found injured “away from the scene” and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The gunman fled the scene after the shooting.
