Detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Sexual Assault Unit (SAU) would like to thank members of the public for their swift assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a sexual assault.
On August 27, at approximately 5 p.m., a youth male victim was groped by an unknown male while shopping with his mother inside a store located in the Town and Country Plaza on Portage Road (between Colborne Street and Huggins Street) in Niagara Falls.
As a result of tips received from the public, detectives identified the suspect as Bertan ISIK (26 years) of Niagara Falls. On August 28, 2025, ISIK was arrested in the area of the offence.
ISIK is charged with one count of Sexual Assault
ISIK remains in custody and is scheduled to attend a bail hearing Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines.
