Update Aug. 31, 12:45 p.m.: Smoky Lake RCMP are clear from the single vehicle collision on Highway 855. The clean up of the scene continues with one lane of alternating traffic open.

Smoky Lake RCMP and other emergency services are currently on scene of a single vehicle collision involving an oil tanker semi truck on Highway 855 near Township Road 580 . Although the collision did not cause an injuries, there is a fire that fire crews are containing.
Traffic in both directions on Highway 855 is currently being redirected.
An update is anticipated when crews have cleared.
