The Toronto Police Service has laid charges in connection with a double homicide that occurred last month in the city’s east end.
At approximately 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, officers responded to reports of gunshots near Bain Avenue and Logan Avenue. Upon arrival, police located two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
Despite the efforts of first responders, one man was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim was transported to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased have since been identified as 18-year-old Quentin Caza and 20-year-old Jeremy McNeil, both of Toronto. Police have released an image of Caza in connection with the investigation.
On May 3, 2025, a 17-year-old youth was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. The accused appeared in court via video link at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre the same day.
Due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identity of the accused cannot be released.
Caza and McNeil’s deaths mark Toronto’s 9th and 10th homicides of the year.
