Members of the Guns and Gangs Unit have concluded investigation into a dial-a-dope drug trafficking operation with the arrests of two men.
On April 2, 2025, at around 12 p.m., members of the Guns and Gangs Unit, with the assistance of the Crime Reduction Team and Tactical Support Unit, arrested two men, age 26 and 30, at a business in the 1500 block of 8th Street East. They are facing a combined total of eight charges relating to drug trafficking and proceeds of crime.
Following their arrests, a search warrant was then executed at a residence in the 300 block of Avenue U South where two women and three men were also arrested on a combined total of 17 unrelated criminal code warrants.
Police also searched two vehicles. As a result of investigation, officers seized;
- More than $1,200 CAD
- 42 grams of crack cocaine
- 13.5 grams of brown fentanyl
- 7.5 grams of soft cocaine
- Cell phones (x6)
- Assorted paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking
