Mahad Ismael Elmi, 46, has been charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Habib Abukar, 36, on June 10.
Edmonton Police say Elmi and Abukar were known to each other. Police had responded at about 5:13 a.m. on Monday to the area of 109 Avenue and 96 Street after getting a report of gunshots. When officers arrived, they located an adult male suffering from serious, life-threatening injuries. EMS responded and the man was declared deceased on scene.
