Edmonton Police arrested two people in the Aug. 11, 2023, murder of Travis Cardinal, 33. Cardinal died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.
On Jan. 31, 2024, Paul Everette Lawrence, 36, and Talsa Ashlee Cardinal, 30, were charged with first-degree.
At about 6 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, police had responded to multiple reports of a weapons complaint in the Eastwood Park neighborhood in the area of 85 Street and 119 Avenue. Upon arrival, Northwest Branch patrol officers found a man in his 30s at the park in life-threatening condition. Paramedics treated and transported the victim to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
