Police recovered $160,000 worth of vehicles, including a Lexus RX350, Porsche Macan, Toyota Highlander, Dodge Durango, and an Audi A7, all of which had been re-VINed.
On Dec. 13, a search warrant was executed in the city of Edmonton after an investigation by Alberta RCMP Auto theft Unit into vehicles that were suspected to be re-VINed and registered in Airdrie, Strathcona County and the Edmonton areas. As a result of the investigation, on Dec. 13, 2023, a search warrant was executed in the city of Edmonton.
Officers recovered a Lexus RX350, Porsche Macan, Toyota Highlander, Dodge Durango, and an Audi A7, all of which had been re-VINed. The value of the vehicles recovered totals approximately $160000. Additionally, RCMP seized over $10000 in cash.
Ahmad Imran, 29, of Edmonton, has been charged with three counts oftrafficking in property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and fraudulent concealment.
Charise Arthur-Hiscock, 34, of Edmonton, has been charged with two counts of uttering a Forged Document, trafficking in property obtained by crime, fraudulent concealment, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Imran and Arthur-Hiscock were taken before a justice of the peace and released from custody with their next court dates set for Jan. 22, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Edmonton.
