Joed Leonard Smith wanted
Masked robbers who smashed their way into a Dalhousie jewellery store last month have been identified, with two suspects now in custody and a third still being sought, according to Calgary police.
Calgary police say the robbery happened on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, when three masked men entered a jewellery store in the 500 block of Dalhousie Drive N.W. Armed with hammers, they smashed several glass display cabinets, grabbed jewellery and fled. A fourth man acted as a lookout at the door. All four left in a stolen black Ford F‑150 that had been left running outside.
The value of the stolen jewellery and damage to the store is estimated at $200,000.
Following an investigation, Calgary police arrested two suspects and issued a warrant for a third.
Charges laid
Jonathan Michael Orgill, 44, of Calgary, is charged with robbery, breaching a release order and possession of stolen property over $5,000.
Austin James Florell, 30, of Calgary, is charged with robbery, being disguised with intent, possession of stolen property under $5,000 and four counts of breaching a release order.
Both Orgill and Florell are in custody and are scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 25, 2026.
Third suspect at large
A warrant has been issued for Joed Leonard Smith, 44, of Calgary. He is charged with robbery, being disguised with intent and fraud under $5,000.
Calgary police describe Smith as 6’0″ tall, about 198 pounds, bald, with blue eyes, and heavily tattooed.
