A Montreal man was arrested Thursday after police say he pushed a woman off a third-storey balcony in the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough.
According to the Montreal police, neighbours witnessed the man push the woman off the balcony following an altercation around 8:15 a.m. on Jan. 1 at an apartment block on Ste-Catherine St. E. near Jeanne-d’Arc Ave.
Officers found the woman unconscious on the sidewalk. A 31-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is being questioned by police.
She was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
