Police say shooting linked to organized crime
On Wednesday, Dec. 10, at approximately 12:30 a.m., police were called for reports of gunshots in the 7000 block of 20 Street S.E. Upon arrival, police located the victim outside of his vehicle, deceased.
At approximately 1:20 a.m., members of the Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service observed a blue Nissan Sentra driving aggressively, turning southbound near the Elbow River bridge onto Weaselhead Road. Police attempted a traffic stop, but the driver initially fled. The vehicle eventually came to a stop near Buffalo Run Blvd., and four men fled on foot.
Calgary police, with the assistance of the Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service, took the three people into custody, including one person close to Buffalo Run Blvd., and two people several hours later in the community of Palliser. It is believed the fourth man fled over the Stoney Trail pedestrian bridge into the community of Woodbine. It is possible the fourth man may have accessed the communities of Oakridge, Cedarbrae and Palliser. He is described as having a dark complexion, wearing dark clothing and shoes. He may have approached members of the public after 1:20 a.m., seeking help or requesting a ride to another location.
The Calgary Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance and for anyone who may have been approached by this individual or may have captured video that could assist with locating or identifying the man to contact police.
One person has since been released, while two individuals remain in custody on unrelated warrants. These individuals are not residents of the Tsuut’ina Nation.
A burned-out vehicle was located west of Weaselhead Road on Tsuut’ina Nation. Investigators are working to determine if this vehicle is connected to the shooting.
An autopsy completed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner today, Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, has resulted in the identification of the deceased as 32-year-old Feysal Osman ABDUL-AZIZ.
This is Calgary’s 14th homicide this year.
“This is a targeted incident that is believed to have connections to organized crime,” says Inspector Darren Smith of the Calgary Police Service Major Crimes Section. “While homicides have decreased compared to previous years, we fully understand the deep impact violence has on the community, even if there is no current or active risk to the public at this time. Our members continue to work diligently to advance the investigation, which is still in its early stages.”
Within the Calgary Police Service, their Organized Crime and Offender Management Section focuses on the identification, prioritization, investigation, enforcement, prevention and management of offenders to have the greatest impact on public safety.
Anyone with any information or dashcam footage related to this incident is asked to contact police or crime stoppers.
