On Oct. 1, 2025, Fort Saskatchewan RCMP with assistance from the Central Alberta Crime Reduction Unit, arrested 43-year- old Aaron Roberts a resident of Edmonton, Alta. in relation to an armed robbery that took place in Bruderheim, Alta, on Nov. 15, 2024.
Aaron Roberts is alleged to have attended the Victoria Hotel armed with a shotgun and robbed the staff of cash. During the robbery, a shotgun was used to hit an individual in the face to force compliance.
Shortly after the robbery, Fort Saskatchewan RCMP recovered what they believe was the vehicle used to escape the scene as well as the cash and firearms used.
Aaron Roberts has been charged with the following offences:
- Robbery with a firearm;
- Using a firearm in the commission of an offence;
- Pointing a firearm;
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon;
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm;
- Possession of a prohibited weapon without a licence;
- Unsafe storage of a firearm
Following a Judicial Interim Release hearing, Aaron Roberts was remanded into custody and is awaiting his next court appearance.
