On September 12, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.m. a member of the Kingston Police Patrol Division was conducting routine patrol in the area of Division Street and Stanley Street.
The officer observed an individual attempting to break into a vehicle and intervened. The individual became combative and physically attacked the officer. A struggle ensued during which the individual attempted to disarm the officer.
Two City of Kingston workers in the area at the time came to the aid of the officer. Additional patrol units then attended and the individual was taken into custody.
The officer was taken to a local hospital where they were treated for injuries sustained during the incident.
The investigation is on going and the arrested individual will face charges in relation to the incident.
