Family seeks answers to Trevin Steele’s murder
The family and friends of Trevin Steele want answers about his death and have taken to social media calling out the killers.
Steele, 24, was last seen in Creighton, Sask., around 7:30 p.m. on May 23, 2024, say Manitoba RCMP. His last contact with his family was at approximately 3 a.m. on May 24.
On social media, his loved ones called Steele’s killers “scum, spineless cowards, and monsters,” who took his life in a senseless, cruel act.
“We’re going to continue to fight until you take accountability for what you’ve done, for what you’ve taken from us, from his family, from his community,” the post said.
RCMP issued a statement in June 2024 from Stelee’s family saying, his family described their son in the following way, “he was a young man of only 24 years, he was polite and well mannered, fiercely protective of his family and close friends, and had a soft compassionate soul. The people who were close to him shared a special bond and those people will carry him in their hearts forever.”
On social media, his family and friends said that Steele was a hard worker who aspired to be a diamond driller but got “sucked into this lifestyle.”
“He looked forward to having a simple life, his own house, marriage and eventually kids that he planned to carry on the tradition of names starting with “T” to match his families.”
They said he adored his cat Luna and took pride in her rescue, saving her as a kitten off a busy city bridge on Valentine’s Day.
On May 28, 2024, Flin Flon RCMP got a report of a missing man who lived on Creekside Drive in Flin Flon.
On June 2, 2024, Steel’s body was found at a home in Flin Flon and RCMP ruled his death a homicide.
