The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has laid additional charges in the murder of a male who was found deceased in northeast Edmonton on Feb. 28.
On Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m. Northeast Branch Patrol responded to the report of a deceased male located in the area of 17 Street and Yellowhead Trail.
The Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy on Mar. 5, 2025, and identified the deceased as Sukhvir Singh, 32. The cause of death was determined to be drowning.
On March 14, 2025, the EPS issued a release regarding the arrests of Manpreet Brar, 29, and Gursimran Singh, 21. Both men were charged in relation to Sukhvir Singh’s death. Police also issued Canada-wide warrants for a third male, Lovepreet Sidhu, 27, in relation to the death.
On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, police arrested and charged Jasmeet Singh, 22, with first degree murder and kidnapping. All four accused were known to the victim and EPS Homicide detectives continue to investigate.
At this time, police believe that Lovepreet Sidhu has since fled to India and are continuing to investigate. Police are also sharing his photo, pictured below, and are asking members of the public with any information regarding his whereabouts to please come forward immediately.

The Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy on Wednesday, Mar. 5, 2025, and identified the deceased as Sukhvir Singh, 32. The cause and manner of death are pending further investigation. However, due to the totality of the circumstances, investigators believe Singh was murdered.
On March 10, Manpreet Brar, 29, was arrested, and on Mar. 13, Gursimran Singh, 21, was arrested. Both men were charged with first degree murder and kidnapping in relation to Sukhvir Singh’s death. Canada-wide warrants have been issued for a third male, Lovepreet Sidhu, 27, for first degree murder and kidnapping in relation to the death. All three accused were known to the victim.
Sukhvir Singh was last seen alive in the evening hours of Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025 in the commercial area near Gateway Boulevard south of Whitemud Drive. Investigators are releasing the name and a photo of Singh in an attempt to prompt those who knew him or who have information about his whereabouts during the week of Feb. 24-28, 2025 to come forward to police. EPS Homicide detectives continue to investigate.
