Yasin Cetin, 32, a former civilian employee of the Edmonton Police Service has been charged with sex crimes against a minor after allegedly luring a 14-year-old boy through a social media app.
Cetin formally resigned from the organization on May 31, 2024. The assault had not been reported to police while he was employed with EPS. The case stems back to the summer of 2024 when officers received an allegation that a minor had been sexually The police investigation led detectives with the Child Protection Section to a man using the handle BadLee on Snapchat who alleged committed sex crimes against a 14-year-old boy after using the social media platform to meet him. The male youth is being supported by the Zebra Child and Youth Advocacy Centre.
Cetin is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, luring a child under 16, making child pornography and distribution of child pornography.
