Calgary Police have charged Shaun Alexander FOLK, 47, of Calgary, with second-degree murder in the August 2023 disappearance of Christopher Stevenson.

He will next appear in court on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024.

The year-long investigation included a search of a residence in downtown Calgary and a rural property located on Range Road 293, in Rocky View County, Alta.

The evidence collected led investigators to believe Christopher was murdered in August 2023.

Investigators believe there are others with information regarding the murder of Christopher and anticipate further charges will be laid in the coming days or weeks.

“This has been an extremely complex investigation where several resources were used from across our Service, as well as several resources from the RCMP,” says Staff Sgt. Sean Gregson of the Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit. “We now believe we have a good understanding of the events leading up to Christopher’s death and the days following his murder. Our investigators are continuing to move this investigation forward and are determined to hold those involved accountable.”
