Montreal Police arrest 4 suspects in 2 connected homicides

Montreal Police have arrested four people in connection with two shootings last summer and say the two shootings are likely related.

Two of the men, aged 25 and 28, were already incarcerated on other charges at the time of their arrest. Their accused accomplices, 24 and 32, were arrested in Edmonton, Alta., and Terrebonne, Que. All four men to be charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Police say all four suspects are tied to gangs in Montreal.

On Aug. 7, 2023, a 28-year-old man was found shot to death on a sidewalk outside a bar on Ste-Catherine Street in downtown Montreal. Police believe he was the intended target of a shooting in June where a 32-year-old man was shot and killed in his parked car in the Lanaudière region. Quebec provincial police say he might have been a victim of mistaken identity, and wasn’t the intended target of the shooting.
