Athabasca RCMP seeks public help identifying suspect

On May 25, 2024, just after midnight, a male suspect approached a woman in the area of the Colinton Hotel in Athabasca with a knife in hand. The male told the victim to give him her stuff, to which she responded by deploying a self-defence spray, running to her car and fleeing the area.

The suspect was described as having a pale-medium complexion, about 6-feet and 190 pounds, and in his late 30s or early 40s. He has short brown wavy hair and dark facial hair. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black sweatpants and black sneakers.

Athabasca RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Athabasca RCMP detachment at 780-675-5122, or their local police service.
