Quebec police dismantle massive meth lab

Quebec police dismantled a massive meth lab but didn’t name who they arrested. They issued a media release on March 4 about the lab.

On Feb. 29, Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit police officers seized more than two million suspected methamphetamine tablets, and dismantled a clandestine laboratory in Montréal’s St-Laurent borough. This commercial space was likely used for synthetic drug production.

Significant quantities of chemicals used in the production of illicit tablets, two pill presses and sophisticated equipment for large-scale production were also seized.

The investigation, which began in December 2023, led to the arrest of five individuals. They were met by our investigators and released pending further proceedings.

They may later face charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, including production and possession of controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking.
