Edmonton Police say Keithkarn Mander’s death is a homicide

Edmonton Police have ruled 22-year-old Keithkarn Mander’s death as a homicide. He was shot to death on March 5.

At about 10:55 p.m., Southeast Branch patrol officers had responded to the area of 48 Street and 21 Avenue on the report of gunshots in the area. When they arrived, they located Mander with critical injuries. He was taken to hospital by paramedics where he was later pronounced deceased. 

Later that night, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Edmonton police responded to the area of 199 Street and 21 Avenue in relation to a vehicle fire. Officers located an SUV engulfed in flames and investigators believe the SUV is connected to Mander’s death.

On Thursday, March 7, the Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy on Mander and determined his cause of death to be gunshot wounds and confirmed the manner of death to be homicide.
