10-km long convoy supporting Coutts 4 headed to US border on 2 year anniversary of their arrest

A convoy marking two years since the Coutts four were arrested was held on Jan. 27. The four have been held in custody for two years without bail and no trial.

The four charged include Anthony Olienick, Chris Lysak, Chris Carbert, and Jerry Mitchell Morin. They are accused of plotting to kill RCMP officers.

Those participating said the convoy of vehicles was about 10 kilometres long.

The convoy started on Hwy 4 in Lethbridge and went 80 km/hr to Milk River. They then dropped down to 60 km/hr to Coutts.

The convoy on Jan. 27 was also to protest the federal government. Participants say their rights are still under attack.
