Police seized two bolt-action rifles, two pump action shotguns, ammunition, extendable baton, and several imitation firearms including a pistol pellet gun.
Several people were arrested and weapons seized on Jan. 7 after police investigated an assault and someone pointing a firearm in in Garden River on Dec. 31, 2023.
Fort Vermilion RCMP, RCMP Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services, Explosives Disposal Unit, Eastern and Western Alberta District (EAD and WAD) Crime Reduction Units, WAD Criminal Intel and WAD National Weapons Enforcement Support Team, executed the search warrants in Garden River.
Four suspects identified in the December incident and two additional individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants.

Desmond D’Or, 27, of Garden River, was charged with pointing a firearm, unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm when knowing possession is unauthorized, and failing to comply with a court order.
Willard Leeroy Peecheemow, 36, of Fox Lake, was charged with unsafe storage of a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm when knowing possession is unauthorized, and failing to comply with a court order.
Karrie Peecheemow, 33, a resident of Garden River, was charged with
with pointing a firearm, unsafe storage of a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of a firearm when knowing possession is unauthorized.
Anthony D’Or, 29, of High Level, was arrested on six outstanding warrants including an assault charge.
Francis D’Or, 25, a resident of Fort Vermilion, was arrested on two outstanding warrants including counts of arson and break and enter.
An arrest warrant was issued for Cornell D’Or, 19, of John D’Or Prairie, who has been charged with pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm when knowing possession is unauthorized, and failing to comply with a court order.
Willard Peecheemow, Desmond D’Or, and Karrie Peecheemow were brought before a justice of the peace. Willard was remanded into custody and is to appear before the Albert Court of Justice in Fort Vermilion on Jan. 15. D’Or and Karrie Peecheemow were released on conditions. Their next court date is set for Jan. 2, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort Vermilion.
Anthony D’Or and Francis D’Or were released on conditions once the warrants were executed.
