Calgary man Robert Matthews, 25, and an 18-year-old Chestermere man who was a youth at the time of the murder, have been charged with second-degree murder in the death of 33-year-old Jordan Jacques-Vetten.
The shooting occurred on Sept. 9, 2023, in the community of Capital Hill in Calgary. At about 3:50 a.m. Calgary police responded to reports of a person in medical distress outside of a residence in the 1700 block of 18 Avenue N.W. When they arrived, officers located a man suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. The man was declared deceased at the scene.
Both accused men appeared in Calgary court Jan. 10.
At this time, police say there is no known relationship between the men and the victim and they are not looking for any other suspects.
