Grande Prairie man arrested with 2 loaded firearms, handcuffs and body armor

A Grande Prairie man, 38-year-old James Darren Sansom faces firearms and violence-related charges.

On Dec. 19, Grande Prairie RCMP members responded to an assault call. They identified the suspect and found his vehicle and arrested him. In the vehicle, police found two loaded firearms, a hard body armor and handcuffs.

Sansom charged with 11 firearm and body armor related offences, assault, and uttering threats.

Sansom was brought before a justice of the peace and released on conditions. He is to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on Jan. 25, 2024.
