Windsor Police arrested 23-year-old Shermere Coulston-Hawkins of Philadelphia after a 21-year-old woman was intentionally struck by a vehicle following a verbal argument on Dec. 23
Police say the man and woman were involved in an intimate partner relationship and that earlier that day the suspect had allegedly assaulted the victim and kept her against her will.
Police located and arrested the man at a Windsor hospital. Coulston-Hawkins has been charged with attempted murder, assault, assault by choking, forcible confinement, and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
Windsor Police were called to the area of Riverside Drive West and Ferry Street for a report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian around 10:30 p.m. The woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver fled the scene before police arrived.
