The Saskatoon Police Guns and Gangs Unit didn’t take any chances when arresting a man wanted on 23 outstanding charges they suspected had a firearm.
They called in the Air Support Unit, the Tactical Support Unit and the Crime Reduction Team to arrest him on Dec. 20.
Officers swarmed in in full force and arrested the 36-year-old man in a parked vehicle in the 200 block of Primrose Drive in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
The precautionary measures proved crucial, because the man had a loaded 9mm handgun and more ammunition on him.
A 23-year-old woman was also arrested. She was found to be breaching her probation.
They have been charged with several firearms-related offences as a result.
