Toronto woman mistakes vehicle for her ride share, is sexually assaulted

Police searching for dark red or rust coloured SUV, possibly a Hyundai Santa Fe

A woman was sexually assaulted after getting into a vehicle she mistook for her ride share.

Toronto police say that on Dec. 17 they responded to a call for sexual assault in the Portland Street and Adelaide Street West area.

The investigation determined that after the woman got into the vehicle, the suspect drove her to an unknown location and sexually assaulted her.

The vehicle is described as a dark red or rust coloured SUV, possibly a Hyundai Santa Fe.

The suspect is described as a male, white, 35-40 years old, Eastern European accent, a brown well-kept beard, wearing a white long-sleeve button-up shirt, and blue jeans.
