Ottawa street gang member Ali Omer Mohamed wanted for second-degree murder

Ali Omer Mohamed, also known on the street as “Simba,” is wanted by Ottawa police on a Canada-wide warrant for second-degree murder. He was a member of the Ottawa street gang named “The Kids”.

In the early morning of Jan. 18, 2018, the victim, 22-year-old Adam Perron, went to a residential apartment to socialize with people he knew. At approximately 3 am, Mohamed went the same apartment and started drinking with Perron.

Just before 6 am, Mohamed and Perron got into a heated argument, which led to Mohamed fatally shooting Perron in the torso. Mohamed was charged with second-degree murder and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

It’s believed that on or around January 23, 2018, Mohamed fled Canada to Djibouti and may have travelled to Somalia or Ethiopia.
