Toronto police ask public’s help locating man wanted for assault

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating Matthew McNeil, 36, who is wanted in an assault investigation.

On Nov. 28, police investigated an assault in the O’Connor Drive and St. Clair Avenue East area.

Police say the victim was assaulted by a man known to her and the suspect stole money from her before fleeing.

McNeil, of Toronto, is wanted for assault causing bodily harm (choking), theft under $5,000, two counts of failing to comply with a release order, and failing to comply with a probation order.

McNeil is 5-foot-8 with a heavy build, dark brown hair, brown eyes, and a scruffy beard.
