The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating a homicide after a man was found dead in a southeast Edmonton residence early this morning.
At approximately 12:38 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting near 16 Avenue SW and 65 Street SW. Upon arrival, they discovered a 41-year-old male suffering from serious injuries. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provided treatment, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The case has now been handed over to the EPS Homicide Section. An autopsy is scheduled for June 5, to determine the exact cause of death.
Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Investigators are particularly interested in security or dash camera footage from the area between 11 p.m. on June 3 and 2 a.m. on June 4.
