On Dec. 4, at about 5:50 a.m., Slave Lake RCMP responded to a medical assist on 6 Avenue in Slake Lake. They found a 61-year-old deceased man from the Slave Lake area in a self-made shelter.
Fire damage was observed within the shelter and Lesser Slave Lake Regional Fire Services were contacted and a fire investigator attended the scene.
Upon initial investigation, it appears the death was non-suspicious in nature, say police.
Slave Lake RCMP continue to work closely with the Fire Investigators. RCMP send their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
