Thanks to tips and information brought forward by the public, Calgary police have now charged a man in relation to the murder of Rhonda Waite.
At approximately 6:45 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, police were called to the 200 block of 14 Avenue N.E., for reports of an unknown body that was found at an abandoned residence. At the time, investigators believed the death was suspicious and it is believed the woman died several days before her body was discovered.
Following an autopsy completed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in August 2022, the victim was identified as 54-year-old Rhonda WAITE, who also went by Rhonda JOROSZEK.
The residence has since been demolished, however photos of the property’s appearance in August 2022 are available.

As the investigation progressed over the last two and a half years, witnesses have continued to come forward to police and provide information in relation to the death. Based on this evidence, earlier this month, investigators publicly deemed the death a homicide in a previous news release, while continuing a public plea for information.
As a result, Calgary police have charged 45-year-old Gregg Stanley DODGE, of Calgary, with one count of second-degree murder in relation to the death of Rhonda.
He will next appear in court tomorrow March 14, 2025.
“Thank you to the witnesses and those who came forward with information in relation to this homicide,” says Staff Sgt. Mark Rahn of the Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit. “This information was crucial in laying the second-degree murder charge and ultimately allowed us to provide answers, justice and closure for Rhonda’s family.”
