Okwuonu had threatened Premier Scott Moe and Dr. Saqib Shahab
Regina Police are searching for 42-year-old Tobechi Okwuonu for breach of probation.
In October 2022 Regina police had issued a media release saying they got a call Oct. 4, 2022, about a threatening email to a number of people, including Premier Scott Moe and Dr. Saqib Shahab, Saskatchewan’s Chief Medical Health Officer. The email had a message about the pandemic and health-related mandates and threatened lives.
Police said the email was sent from a fake account. After investigating, officers executed a search warrant at a home in Regina and arrested Okwuonu.
According to Research Gate, Okwuonu was a University of Regina student in the department of chemistry and biochemistry.
Okwuonu is described as male, 5-foot-6 and approximately 130 pounds with short black hair, and brown eyes.
