BC Homicide Unit takes over investigation of Tory Dunn’s murder

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the investigation of 30-year-old Tory Dunn’s murder in the Port Kells neighbourhood.

On June 16, 2024, at approximately 10 p.m., first responders from the Surrey RCMP responded to a residence near the 9800-block of 182A Street, Surrey and found a woman with life-threatening injuries. Paramedics arrived and transported the woman to a nearby hospital for treatment. Despite life-saving measures, the woman succumbed to her injuries. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called to investigate.

Following a search of the area by additional police responders and the Integrated Police Dog Service (IPDS), a suspect was located and taken into police custody. This suspect remains in custody for an unrelated charge and the homicide investigation is ongoing.
