RCMP arrested 48-year-old Quinn Olson after raiding a home in Red Deer and seizing firearms, equipment to manufacture firearms, stolen property, and drugs.
Police seized firearms and firearm components, equipment for making firearms, a stolen vehicle with an altered VIN, equipment to alter VIN, fraudulent documents and equipment to make them, drugs, and various stolen property.
Olson was charged with possession of firearms for the purpose of trafficking, weapons manufacturing, altering a Vehicle Identification Number, fraud over $5,000, possession of an intercepting device, forged documents, and property valued over $5,000 obtained by crime. He was also charged with numerous breach of court order offences.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Quinn Olson.
“This investigation is an excellent example of intelligence led policing and furthers our goals with the City of Red Deer’s policing priorities” said Inspector Heidi Ravenhill.
Red Deer RCMP would also like to thank the public for their assistance with this matter.
“A concerned citizen had phoned police to report suspicious activity, which assisted with the investigation at its onset,” said Constable Andrew Devine. “This investigation exemplifies how important partnering with our community members can be to detect and deter crime to make Red Deer safer”
