GRANDE PRAIRIE, Alta. — On Aug. 27, at approximately 12:26 p.m., Grande Prairie RCMP received a complaint reporting a male in possession of a handgun in the parking lot of the Eastlink Center. Police promptly attended the area and located the male sitting in a vehicle.
Upon searching the vehicle, police located the “handgun” and determined it to be a lighter, closely resembling a real handgun.
Police also located:
- 423 grams of methamphetamine;
- 20 grams of cocaine
- 1 gram of fentanyl
- Multiple items relating to drug trafficking



Shane Schulze, 53, of Grande Prairie, has been charged with trafficking methamphetamine.
Shulze was brought before a justice of the peace and released on conditions. He is to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on Sept. 16.
