A suspect threw two incendiary devices towards the backyard of a home
Brooks RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle connected to an arson and mischief incident that occurred earlier this month.
On Aug. 2, at approximately 1:34 a.m., police responded to a report of mischief and arson at a property on South Shore Drive in Brooks.
According to police, an unknown suspect threw two incendiary devices towards the backyard of a residence, causing a small contained fire on the deck. The suspect immediately fled the scene. Brooks Fire Services attended and extinguished the fire.
Officers also discovered that several windows on a truck parked at the residence had been broken, and a basement window of the home was damaged. No injuries were reported.
RCMP investigators believe the attack was targeted.
Following a review of CCTV footage, investigators have identified two vehicles of interest seen in the area around the time of the offence. The Brooks RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) is now requesting the public’s help in identifying one of the vehicles.
Suspect vehicle #1 is described as a pickup truck with no tailgate.
