On April 10 Parkland RCMP received a complaint from a building manager that an individual was checking doorhandles of vehicles in an underground parking area in Spruce Grove. Police arrived at the location and were notified that two male suspects were in a Jeep Cherokee in the underground parking.
Police went into the underground parking lot and the suspect vehicle began attempting to evade police in an aggressive manner, maneuvering around the police vehicle. When the suspects noticed another police vehicle parked in the way of the parking garage door, they stopped. Police arrested the two suspects without incident.
Daniel Warner, 42, of Onoway has been charged with:
- Break and enter,
- Mischief under $5,000 damage to motor vehicle,
- Possess break-in instruments,
- Possess of property obtained by crime,
- Operation while prohibited,
- Flight from Peace Officer,
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon,
- Possession of methamphetamine.
Brandon Hiltz, 31, of Stony Plain has been charged with:
- Break and enter,
- Mischief under $5,000 damage to motor vehicle,
- Possess break-in instruments.
Daniel Warner has been remanded into custody with his next court appearance on April 15 at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert.
