Man, 27, assaulted, choked, before being killed
Lethbridge Police have charged a total of five people with first-degree murder in the death of a 27-year-old man.
On March 27, at approximately 6:30 a.m., police and EMS responded to a 911 call reporting an assault at an apartment complex along the 200 block of 7 A Avenue South. Upon arrival, an unresponsive male was located inside one of the units and later pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim was identified as a 27-year-old Lethbridge man.
The Criminal Investigation Section assumed the homicide investigation and a total of five subjects – all known to the victim – have now been arrested and charged.
The investigation determined that, during the early morning hours of March 27, the victim was inside the apartment with a 22-year-old female. In the hours prior to his death, multiple people attended the residence and he was forcibly confined, assaulted and choked, ultimately succumbing to his injuries. Evidence suggests the targeted attack was planned and all five subjects actively participated in the murder.
On March 28, a 43-year-old male and 27-year-old male were located and arrested without incident. On March 30, the Critical Incident Team executed two search warrants at residences along Mt. Crandell Crescent and arrested a 42-year-old male.
On April 2, members of the Crime Suppression Team located and arrested a 40-year-old male and on April 8, a 22-year-old female turned herself in at the police station.
Darcy Andrew Medicine Crane, 43; Jordan Frank North Peigan, 27; Nicholas Rodney Scout, 42; Bradley Stephen Paskiuski, 40; and Emma Ryann Scott, 22, all of Lethbridge, are each charged with one count of first-degree murder. All have been remanded in custody.
Medicine Crane and Scout are scheduled to appear in court on April 30 and North Peigan on May 1. Paskiuski will appear in court today and Scott will appear on Friday.
No further subjects are being sought in connection with the murder at this time.
The investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released.
