Yuvraaz Singh fled country before arrest, caught re‑entering Canada.
LETHBRIDGE — A 22-year-old Taber man, Yuvraaz Singh, has finally been arrested after Lethbridge Police Service officers (LPS) found six missing children inside a southside hotel room last year, where a 12-year-old girl later reported she had been sexually assaulted.
Singh was charged with numerous sexual assault offences and a Canada-wide warrant issued for his arrest but he fled the country before police could arrest him.
On Jan. 19, 2026, LPS was alerted the Singh had returned to Canada and had been arrested at the Vancouver International Airport. Singh is currently remanded in custody in B.C. and awaiting to be transported back to Alberta.
Singh’s charges stem from an incident on April 24, 2025, when Lethbridge police responded to a request to assist in the recovery of property from a southside hotel room. Upon arrival, police located a male with six children, one boy and five girls ranging in age from 12 to 14, inside the room. The male, later determined to be 21-years-old at the time, initially lied to police about his age, claiming to be a teenager. An investigation was then initiated.
The investigation determined the male had met the teens on social media. After driving them around to various locations, he took the group to a hotel room where they were provided with alcohol and a 12-year-old girl reported she was sexually assaulted.
During the course of the investigation, after repeated unsuccessful attempts to contact the male, police learned he had left the country.
