Cecil Lapp, 64, of Calgary charged with second‑degree murder
A 51‑year‑old man killed in Rundle earlier this month has been identified as Troy Ernest Gouchee, following an autopsy completed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Calgary Police say the death, first reported as suspicious, is now being treated as a homicide. A suspect has been charged.
Arrest and charge
Calgary Police have charged Cecil Lapp, 64, of Calgary, with second‑degree murder in connection with the Feb. 13 death. His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 17.
Incident details
According to Calgary Police, officers were called to a home in the 100 block of Rundlecairn Road N.E. around 6:20 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, for reports of an assault. Responding officers found a man in his 50s suffering from life‑threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital, where he later died.
One man was taken into custody at the scene. Calgary Police say investigators are not seeking additional suspects and believe the incident was targeted, with no ongoing risk to the public.
The autopsy confirming Gouchee’s identity was completed on Feb. 17.
