In early October, the Strathcona County RCMP Drug Unit began an investigation into a drug trafficker believed to be active in the Sherwood Park and Edmonton areas.
As a result of the investigation, Strathcona County RCMP Drug Unit, with assistance of the Strathcona County RCMP Property Crime Unit and the St. Albert RCMP Drug Unit, executed two search warrants at residences in Sherwood Park and Edmonton on Oct. 23, 2025, which led to the seizure of the following:
Southwest Edmonton residence:
- 1.6 kg of Methamphetamine
- 905 grams of Cocaine
- 552 grams of MDMA
- 863 grams of Ketamine
- Over $20,000 in Canadian currency
Sherwood Park residence:
- A small quantity of steroids and user quantities of methamphetamine
- Over $47,000 in Canadian currency
Strathcona County RCMP have charged three people in relation to this investigation.
Michael Shaune St. Martin (42), a resident of Sherwood Park was charged with possession of proceeds over $5,000.
St. Martin is currently before the courts for possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance.
Matthew Petrollini (44), a resident of Edmonton and Tara Trudeau (50), a resident of Edmonton were charged with:
- Possession of proceeds over $5,000.
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking x2
St. Martin, Petrollini and Trudeau were all released on an Undertaking with conditions. They are scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Sherwood Park on Jan. 21, 2026.
“This enforcement action directly reduces the supply of illegal drugs in our community and disrupts criminal networks that profit from harm. Drugs such as these are often linked to overdoses, property crime, violence and the exploitation of vulnerable people. By removing them from circulation, we are taking meaningful steps to prevent further harm and improve community safety,” says Inspector Kevin Peterson, Strathcona County RCMP Officer in charge of operations. “This investigation was the result of coordinated and sustained efforts by RCMP investigators, with support from policing and justice partners. It reflects our commitment to community safety within Strathcona County and targeting those that pose the greatest risk to public safety.”
