The Toronto Police Service is investigating a homicide. On Sept. 24, at approximately 10 p.m., police responded to a call for a Shooting in the Sheppard Avenue East and Brimley Road area.
It is alleged that:
- the victim and the suspects had attended an establishment
- the victim and the suspects were involved in a physical confrontation
- the suspects then brandished a firearm and shot the victim
- life saving measures were done by first responders at the scene
- the victim was transported to hospital by emergency run
- the victim succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
The victim has been identified as Yueyuan Dong, 42, of Woodbridge.
On Sunday, November 9, 2025, one of the suspects, Donald Keeshig, attended 42 Division and turned himself into police.
Donald Keeshig, 29, of Toronto, has been charged with:
- Second Degree Murder
He was scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 10 a.m., in room 103.
Kai Chen, 29, of Markham, and Kye-Shawne Griffiths, 28, of Brampton are still outstanding.
