FOOTHILLS COUNTY, Alta. – On Feb. 4, emergency crews responded to a grass fire, located south of Eden Valley. Once the fire was extinguished, a burned vehicle containing unidentified human remains was located. RCMP Major Crimes took carriage of the investigation.
As a result of this investigation, two people have been arrested.
Vance Pidborochnyski (37), and Shelby Filkowski (30-F), both residents of Lethbridge, have been charged with the first-degree murder of Frans Faras.
After Judicial Interim Release Hearings and a first appearance in court on Oct. 5, both have been remanded into custody. Filkowski will appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Okotoks on Oct. 30, and Pidborochynski in Calgary on Nov. 5.
