The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, with assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police, executed a search warrant on October 21, 2025, resulting in the seizure of more than $1.4 million worth of illicit drugs and more than $124k cash.
Around 6:00 a.m. on October 21, 2025, detectives with the Crime Suppression Unit and Drug Enforcement Unit, with assistance from the Emergency Services Unit and the Ontario Provincial Police’s Emergency Response Team and Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau, executed a search warrant at a unit within a multi-unit residential building in the 0-100 block of Princess Crescent. A 20-year-old from Toronto, Ontario, was located within the unit and arrested.
A search of the accused’s residence and vehicle located:
- Approximately 3.77 kg of suspected fentanyl (estimated street value: $754,390)
- Approximately 2.75 kg of suspected cocaine (estimated street value: $274,815)
- Approximately 4.14 kg of suspected methamphetamine (estimated street value: $413, 735)
- 62 tablets of suspected oxycodone (estimated street value: $620)
- Approximately $124,235 in Canadian currency
- Cutting agents, drug packaging materials, three digital weigh scales, five cellular devices
A 2023 Hyundai Sonata was also seized as offence-related property.
The total estimated street value of drugs seized is approximately $1,443,560 – the largest drug seizure in the history of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.
“This is a historic drug seizure for our community,” says William Freeman, Interim Deputy Chief of Police. “This is more than ten kilograms of poison that won’t make it onto our streets to harm members of our community. It’s the result of tireless work by our officers and the strong collaboration we have with our provincial partners. While this outcome is significant, our work isn’t done — we’ll continue to target those who profit from bringing dangerous drugs into Sault Ste. Marie.”
The accused is charged with:
- Possession of Schedule I Substance for Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)
- Possession of Schedule I Substance for Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)
- Possession of Schedule I Substance for Purpose of Trafficking (Methamphetamine)
- Possession of Schedule I Substance for Purpose of Trafficking (Oxycodone)
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5,000
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
