Matthew Neufeld (Tribute Archive)
On August 8, 2025 at approximately 1:10 a.m., Swift Current Municipal RCMP received a report of a male who was injured at a residence on 1st Avenue NW in Swift Current, Sask.
Officers immediately responded. The male was taken to hospital where he was later declared deceased. He has been identified as 29-year-old Matthew Neufeld from Swift Current. His family has been notified.
As the death was considered suspicious, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes took over the investigation.
As a result of continued investigation, an adult male was arrested in Swift Current on October 15, 2025. 54-year-old Christopher Sean Foster from Swift Current, is charged with second degree murder.
Christopher Foster will appear in Regina Provincial Court on October 17, 2025
