An increased RCMP presence in Pilger, SK resulted in illicit drugs and weapons being seized at a residence.
On August 27, 2026, Saskatchewan RCMP executed a search warrant at a residential property in Pilger as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. The search warrant was executed by Saskatchewan RCMP’s Prince Albert Crime Reduction Team (CRT), Prince Albert Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team (WEST), and Critical Incident Response Team.
During a search of the property, officers located and seized approximately:
- 530 grams of cocaine;
- 7 grams of methamphetamine;
- 52,500 unstamped illegal cigarettes; and
- 40 grams of unstamped cannabis.
Saskatchewan RCMP officers also seized:
- a firearm;
- a baton;
- a conducted energy weapon; and
- a sum of cash.
Saskatchewan RCMP arrested an adult male at the property.
60-year-old Gaetan Carrier from Pilger, Sask. is charged with:
- one count, unauthorized possession of a firearm, Section 91(1), Criminal Code;
- one count, sell, offer for sale, transport, deliver, distribute, or have in his possession for the purpose of sale a tobacco product, or a raw leaf tobacco that is unstamped, Section 121.1(1), Criminal Code;
- one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88(1), Criminal Code;
- one count, possession of property obtained by crime less than $5000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code;
- one count, unauthorized possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon, Section 91(2), Criminal Code; and
- one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
